1. Who we are
Studify ("Studify", "we", "us") is operated by Pavel Slapovskii, trading as Studify, Vojvode Maša Đurovića, 81000 Podgorica, Montenegro. You can reach us at support@studify.today.
These Terms govern your use of the Studify service at https://studify.today, delivered in the app at https://app.studify.today (the "Service"). By creating an account or purchasing a plan you agree to them.
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy, LLC acts as the merchant of record for all purchases: it sells the subscription to you, charges your payment method, collects any applicable VAT or sales tax, and issues your receipt. Your purchase is therefore also subject to the Lemon Squeezy Buyer Terms. We provide the Service itself; Lemon Squeezy provides the transaction.
2. What the Service is
Studify gives you spoken English practice with an AI tutor — an animated avatar in a browser-based video call. In a lesson the AI listens to you, talks back, corrects mistakes, assesses pronunciation and produces a written lesson report.
The tutor is software, not a human teacher. It can make mistakes, misunderstand speech and produce inaccurate corrections. Studify is a practice tool for personal language learning. It is not certified tuition, not an exam preparation guarantee, and it does not lead to any accredited qualification.
To use the Service you need a modern browser, a working microphone, permission to use it, and a stable internet connection. Camera access is optional and off by default.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and purchase a plan. The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them (see the Privacy Policy).
4. Your account
You sign in with a one-time email link or with Google. You are responsible for keeping access to that mailbox or Google account secure, and for everything that happens under your account. An account is personal — it may not be shared between people, and lessons may not be resold or delivered to third parties.
5. Plans and what a lesson means
We sell plans in lessons per month:

A lesson is a single tutoring session, including the warm-up, practice, pronunciation work and the closing summary. Its length is set by the course you are enrolled in; the plans above are sold as 20-minute lessons. On courses with a different lesson length your plan converts fairly: the balance is kept in tutoring time, and a shorter lesson uses proportionally less of it, a longer one proportionally more.
A session you pause keeps counting as the same lesson for as long as the plan it was charged against is active: come back the next day or the next week and you continue where you left off, at no extra charge. Once a lesson has been substantially completed, your next session starts the next lesson. If you leave in the first 5 minutes without doing any practice, the lesson is not counted against your plan (contact us and we will restore it).
Unused lessons do not carry over to the next billing period. This is deliberate: each lesson costs us live compute (speech recognition, language model, speech synthesis, avatar minutes), so we cannot bank unlimited unused capacity. If you need more lessons in a given month, buy the extra lesson add-on or move to the larger plan.
We do not offer unlimited plans.
6. Billing, renewal and price changes
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Lemon Squeezy and renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are shown at checkout in euros (EUR); the final amount may include VAT determined by your billing country, which Lemon Squeezy calculates, collects and remits. Lemon Squeezy settles transactions in US dollars, so if your card is issued in another currency your bank may apply its own conversion.
We may change prices. Existing subscribers will be notified by email at least 30 days before a change takes effect, and the new price applies from the next renewal. If you do not accept it, you may cancel before that renewal.
If a renewal payment fails, Lemon Squeezy will retry it. If it keeps failing, your subscription ends and access to lessons stops.
7. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from the customer portal linked in your receipt email or from your Studify account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep the lessons you already paid for until then, and you are not charged again.
Refunds are described in the Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the Service for anything unlawful; attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer it; share your account; resell lessons; use the tutor to generate hateful, harassing, sexual or otherwise abusive content; or impersonate someone else.
We may suspend or end an account that breaks these rules. If we end an account for a serious breach, unused prepaid lessons are not refunded.
9. Speech, recordings and personal data
Lessons involve processing your voice. Your speech is transcribed to run the lesson, and short audio fragments of pronunciation exercises are stored so we can score them and show you feedback — we do not store a recording of the whole lesson. What is collected, where it is stored and how to have it deleted is set out in the Privacy Policy.
10. Availability and changes to the Service
We aim to keep the Service available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Lessons depend on third-party infrastructure (network, speech and AI providers) that can fail. We may change, add or remove features. If a change materially reduces what your active plan provides, we will tell you by email and you may cancel and request a pro-rata refund of the unused part of the current period.
Planned maintenance and incidents may occasionally make lessons unavailable. If we cannot deliver lessons you have paid for within your billing period because of a failure on our side, contact support@studify.today and we will credit or refund the affected lessons.
11. Intellectual property
The Service, its software, avatar, prompts, teaching materials and design are ours or our licensors'. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use them for your own learning.
The content you produce — your speech, your answers, your lesson reports — remains yours. We process it only to run the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or loss arising from reliance on the tutor's linguistic corrections. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights in the EU/EEA and the UK.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for deletion). We may end these Terms with 30 days' notice, or immediately for a serious breach of section 8. On termination your access ends; deletion of your data follows the Privacy Policy.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of Montenegro. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence and may bring proceedings there.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email at least 30 days in advance. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms. The current version is always at https://studify.today/terms.
